Kansas University Jayhawks Look toward a Strong 2018-19 Season

With coach Bill Self at the helm, the Jayhawks had an impressive Final Four finish in early 2018, despite injuries and a depleted bench. The 2018-19 is predicted by many to be one in which the Jayhawks make a repeat Final Four appearance that potentially sets the stage for a crown.

This has to do with the return of pivotal starters Lagerald Vick and Udoka Azubuike, alongside bench stalwarts Marcus Garrett and Silvio De Sousa. Several incoming freshmen have the skills necessary to vault into the starting lineup, including forward Dedric Lawson and guard Quentin Grimes.
If the Jayhawks do make it to the March Madness finals, they will be a well-tested unit that has played Michigan State in the Champions Classic in Indianapolis, hosted Stanford, and taken on Kentucky on the opponent’s home turf. An anticipated matchup against reigning champions the Villanova Wildcats is slated for December 15, with the Jayhawks looking for homecourt payback for an ignominious defeat.
